Brief History:
  Burke, VT was chartered in 1782 and it is thought to be named after Edmund Burke who was a British statesman and orator.
 
General Area Info:  East Burke, VT is home to Burke Mountain. Burke Mountain is a family ski resort with a variety of terrain from beginner to advanced. The mountain has 45 trails on 250 acres and hosts a vertical drop of 2,011 Burke Vermont Real Estate | Green Mountains of Vermontfeet. The average snowfall is 217 inches.
 
Burke Mountain is also home to Burke Mountain Academy, which is a renowned ski academy. They have schooled 45 students that became Olympians.
 
Kingdom Trails is a network of mountain bike trails also located in East Burke. Bike Magazine rated it the Best Trail Network in North America. If you enjoy mountain biking you will appreciate the system whether you are an advanced or novice biker.
 
Burke is located in Caledonia County and close to Lyndonville and I-91. It is also close to Lake Willoughby to the North.
