I am now entering my 11thyear in the Real Estate business having obtained my sales license my senior year of high school at the age of 18. I practiced during the summers while attending the University of Vermont, where I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Management. Post-college I traveled around the U.S. and worked as a handyman mainly in Colorado and Alaska. I have since settled back into the beautiful Northeast Kingdom and our family business where I am now a Managing Broker.  I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, hunting, soccer, riding ATVs, snowmobiling, skiing, and snowshoeing.  In 2010, I received the honor of being named #1 Century 21 Agent in Vermont.  I was also named Orleans County Board of Realtors 2009 Realtor of the Year. Our team would be honored to assist you in any of your real estate endeavors!

TESTIMONIALS

Nick worked really hard for us, showing after showing, and following up on all issues...Nick was a trooper from start to finish guiding us through the process.  Bringing us offers and offering well thought out and good advice.  Due to his charming personality, eagerness to assist, attention to detail & willingness to go the extra mile, I have asked him to help me find another piece of property & recommed him to anyone who asks for a good Realtor in Northern Vermont!  ~Lynn Thorpe, Massachusetts

I would like to recognize with this letter the terrific work that Nick Maclure did helping us with the purchase of our home in Westmore in October 2007.  Nick was a genuine pleasure to work with and I asked him if I could do this letter as a kind of testimonial.  My wife and I had visited VT annually for many years but had never bought a home in the state before.  We visited the Westmore house several times with Nick but after that all of our communication was by long distance phone calls and emails.  Nick was exceptionally responsive and prompt.  He was great at scheduling phone calls when we needed & kept us in the loop throughtout the negotiations he conducted on price & then the subsequent closing preparations.  Nick's negotiations on our behalf merits special mention.  He prepared comparables for us & reviewed them in detail with us.  He gave us his best estimate of our good price that was significantly below the property's asking price.  The negotiation was slow because of the large difference at the start in our offer compared to the seller's price.  Nick was terrific at staying in touch with the sellers' Realtor & not ending discussions.  There were days when I dispaired, but Nick stayed focused in his pleasant but persistent way.  In the end we bought the home for exactly the price Nick laid out at the start of the price negotiations three weeks earlier.  Nick, after the closing helped us greatly with the names of local lawyers, bankers, repairmen & insurance agents.  As we are new to the area I cannot overstate how helpful these references were.  We would not hesitate to use Nick again should we buy property again in Northern VT.~Robert S. Ford, Ambassador of Algiers

Nick did a great job as our realtor!  he went out of his way countless times to help us in whatever way we needed.  He was more knowledgeable about the entire home buying process thatn any other realtor we've dealt with in the past.  We would definitley use Nick maclure again in the future and recommend him to others. ~ The Kirkpatrick's

When I decided to purchase a house in Newport, VT, there were alot of factors to consider from the location, property size to the style of home.  The one thing that surprised me was the job of finding the "right real estate agent" to help me with my purchase.  I discovered that finding a home was not easy for I had to find a place that would fit me and my lifestyle.  After speaking with a few real estate agents in the Newport area, I felt that they would sell me "any house".  But Nick maclure, took a different approach...he took the time to know exactly what I was looking for and found the perfect house that suited me.  I am extremely pleased with the entire purchasing process that Nick guided me through.  From the initial visit of the house to the closing date Nick gave complete and accurate information about the house.  If he didn't have the answer I always received an email within a few hours with the response he obtained from the seller.  I would recommend Nick Maclure, to anyone who is looking to purchase a home in the Northeast Kingdom for purchasing a home can be a very stressful like changing experience but Nick turned it into a pleasant one. ~ Nancy Valcourt

I purchased my first home in December 2010.  Nick was there throughout the entire process; he always acted in my best interest and made me feel comfortable every step of the way.  He was a great liaison between all parties involved.  He never hesitated to contact the appraiser, lawyer, seller's agent or even the lender to help keep the process on track.  He always listened to my questions and concerns and was willing to go out of his way to help me better understand the buying process.  Nick is a great Realtor.  He cares about the people involved and not just the job. ~ Diane Dupuis, Senior Accountant at Jay Peak Resort

We all thought the closing went smoothly and we thank you again for bringing this all together.  We also wanted to thank you Nick for the high level of professionalism exhibited as our realtor while selling our Mom's home in Barton.  Your research was complete in order to familiarize yourself with the property prior to our initial meeting.  Your comparative analysis was informative & extensive which resulted in a favorable fair market value for the property.  Nick, your communication skills were exceptional.  Our phone calls & emails were responded to promptly and you guided us efficiently through the reams of paperwork.  We would strongly recommend Nick to any potential buyer or seller in the future. ~ The Wallace Family
